The "Fort Paragon Hotel" overlooked the Winter Gardens, but due to the emergence of other guest houses and smaller hotels unfortunately failed to reach its potential in filling its rooms and so became financially unviable. It was described as a Private Hotel and Boarding Establishment, facing the Bandstand, Pronenade and overlooking the Jetty, close to the Sea Baths and all bedrooms have sea views.

 

East Kent Times and Mail, Wednesday 4th March 1925.

An application for a licence for the consumption of alcohol, either on or off the premises, on behalf of the "Hotel Bijou," Nos. 10 and 11, "Fort Paragon," Margate. The application was opposed by Mr. Harries, on behalf of the "Fort Paragon Hotel."

Licensing sessions will be held on March 4th. The granting of the renewal of licenses in respect of the "Ship Hotel" and the "Fort Paragon Hotel" will be considered.

Valet Smashes Glass Panel at Margate Hotel. The smashing of a glass panel in a door at the "Fort Paragon Hotel," Margate, cost Henry Hornsby, aged 30, a valet, giving an address in Chandos Street, Cavendish Square, London W1, £8.
