I have seen reference suggesting that the "George" changed name to the "Three Mariners" and then onto the "Duke of Cumberland" before eventually becoming the "Duke's Head" by 1802. However, at present I haven't seen any reference to a pub in this are going under the name of the "Three Mariners" at all yet myself.
