From the Maidstone Journal, 13 September 1803.
Particulars of Freehold Estates, in the several parishes of Sevenoaks, Trosley
and Kingsdown, in the County of Kent, to be sold together by private contract,
or in the following lots.
Lot 1:- That good accustomed Public House, known by the sign of the "Old Cock,"
situate in the high road leading from Sevenoaks to Tonbridge, in the parish of
Sevenoaks; comprising a Dwelling-house, with good stabling and accommodation for
40 horses, about 6 acres (be the same more or less) of capital meadow land and
garden ground, with a cottage in the garden, and other buildings near the
dwelling house, let to Mr. Seager or his under tenants, tenants at will, at the
net of £35 per annum.
Lot 2:- That much frequented Public-house, known by the sign of the "George,"
situate at Trosley in the county of Kent, comprising a brick dwelling house,
with good cellaring, new erected stable and oasthouse, about one acre and a half
(be the same more or less) of good garden and excellent hop-ground, in the
occupation of Mr. Davis, with two other brick Messuages and Garden grounds, let
to Mr. Seager, on lease, of which about seven or eight years our now unexpired,
at the uncommon low rent of £20 per annum, tenant keeping the premises in good
repair.
Lot 3:- Three Houses timber and tiled, with garden grounds, situate near the
"Cock," in the parish of Kingsdown and now or late in the several occupations of
Messrs. Morgan, Mills, and Chalkling, tenants at will, at the yearly rent of
£12.

Lot 6:- That much frequented substantial Brick Public House, known by the sign
of the "Cock," at Kingsdown, aforsaid, with barn, stables, yard, and other
suitable out-houses, and about 10 acres, be the same more or less, of arable,
Hop and Garden Grounds, let on lease, of which 16 years are unexpired at
Christmas last, at the yearly rent of £35 per annum, in the occupation of John
Tasker Esq., or his undertenants.
As part of the purchase money may remain on Mortgage of the respective lots, if
required.
