Originally built circa 1700 as two cottages. In existence as a pub in 1740 where it was mentioned in the Wingham Division Ale Licence list as having its licence renewed at a cost of 8 shillings, but changed it's name to the "Three Colts" in the 1790s, then to the "Three Ravens" then the "Rice Arms" and lately back to the "Ravens", but I'm afraid I don't yet know when. The building itself can be traced back to 1680. The name "Blue Anchor" has also been spelt "Blew Anchor."
LICENSEE LIST BURVILLE William 1740+ Name changed to "Three Colts" 1790.
