PUB LIST PUBLIC HOUSES Paul Skelton

Earliest 1769

(Name from)

Blue Bell

Latest 1789

(Name to)

Deal

The Deal History Society tell me that this pub was functioning under this name in 1769, but prior to that and from 1737 it was called the "Royal Oak". By 1789 it had again changed name to the "Deal Shallop" and the latest date given for this unknown premises is 1853.

There is a little confusion here as I also have a "Blue Boar" or "Blewbore" mentioned as the same pub.

I hope to find out where they gained their information from to confirm the above.
