The Dover Chronicles on 7 May 1842, printed a list of "Inns & Innkeepers
of Dover A.D. 1713. Unfortunately no addresses were given.
I have also seen reference to a "Chequers"
with the address of Buckland.

Further research has found the following from the Kentish Gazette in
1768.
From Kentish Gazette 14 December 1768.
On Tuesday last a child, about four years old, was burnt to death at a
house near the "Chequer" Alehouse in Dover.

Kentish Gazette, Saturday 17th April 1773.
To be Sold by Auction.
On Thursday, 22nd of April instant, at the sign of the "Chequers" at the
Pier, in Dover, at Three O'clock in the Afternoon.
All that good Sloop or Cutter, called the Royal William, of Dover, of
the Burthen of Sixty Tons or thereabouts, whereof John Johnson the late
Master; with her Tackle, Apparel, Small Boat, and Furniture belonging,
exceeding well found, in good Condition, and fit for immediate Service.
An invention may be seen, and the Cutter and Materials viewed, in the
Morning of the Day of Sale, by applying to Mr. Johnson, or to Mr.
Farbrace, at Dover.

Kentish Gazette, Tuesday 25 June 1799.
To be sold by auction.
On Monday next, July 1st, 1799, at the sign of the "Chequers," in Dover,
at three o'clock in the afternoon.
That well-accustomed caravan from Dover to Deal to meet the Ramsgate and
Margate caravans four times a week, with three able horses and harness,
and one light cart and harness.
It will keep going to the day of sale.
