Little is known of this establishment, but Glover and Rogers have found reference to it in the Walmer Alehouse Keepers book of 1810, when a Samuel Baker is mentioned as landlord. I hasten to add that I doubt it is the same Samuel Baker of the "Ship" in Deal licensee in 1855 who committed murder.
