Above photo "two gentlemen enjoying a drink in a cosy, country pub in Kent." Circa 1938.

Another kindly sent by Rory Kehoe, this was originally published in an unknown magazine and the caption read "two gentlemen enjoying a drink in a cosy, country pub in Kent,"

Dated around 1938 but there's no further clue as to where the cosy pub may have been.

Perhaps the bar next to the fireplace will help here.

Don, (surname unknown) suggested to me that it could possibly be the "Crown" at Groombridge, and kindly sent me the photo below. There is an even earlier photo on that page of the fireplace in 1907 that you can also compare with, and it hasn't changed that much at all.

Above photo, 2009, kindly sent by Don.

Further correspondence that has come my way is from Sam Martin who suggests that it could also be of the "Three Horseshoes" at Lower Hardres, although unfortunately I haven't got a photo of the fireplace at that pub yet.
