Kent Herald 8 March 1827

Advertisement: To be sold by auction, by D. Godden (without reserve), at the "Folkestone Arms," in the town of Folkestone, on Monday the 19th of March inst., at 12 o'clock at noon (subject to the conditions of sale), all that messuage or tenement, lately known by the name of the "Fountain," with the yard, spacious garden, and appurtenances, situate in George Lane, in Folkestone aforesaid, and late in the tenure or occupation of Mr. John Hadley.

The above is held for the residue of a term of 500 years, commencing the 11th of October, 1722, under lease granted by Jacob, late Earl of Radnor, and is now subject to the yearly rent of 6d. only. The above estate might at a trifling expense be converted into two dwellings, for which tenants would be easily found, by which means a good percentage would be realised.

Mr. Godden will show the premises, and further particulars may be obtained on application to Mr. Charles Pitt, conveyance, Hawks Lane, Canterbury, or of the auctioneer, at Folkestone. Half of the purchase money may remain on mortgage if required.

Dated 5th of March, 1827

Appears to give an earlier end date.
