Mentioned as being a beerhouse in Market Street and Lower Street between 1861 and 1863, but no other mention to date. Latest mention being from the Deal Licensing Register from 1 December 1863.

I have also seen this called the "General Garibaldi" in the 1861 census.

W. Wheatley, "Garibaldi," Market Street, fined £1 in cash for selling beer between 1 and 2 o'clock Sunday morning.

 

From the Deal, Walmer and Sandwich Telegram, 9 November 1861.

W. Wheatley, landlord of the "Garibaldi" beer house, charged with insulting Virginia Bell, a professional singer at the "Park Tavern" and calling her a Whore.
