Owned by the Laurel Pub Company open in 2001 after changing from "Slatter's Hotel Argot Bar."

The premises catered mainly for beer in the evening but served food during the day, hence the name Canteen. The premises contained what they termed a "cosmopolitan brasserie at the heart of the city's business centre. Mediterranian inspired menus as well as a few British classics."

When it closed in 2007, it was intended to reopen as a "Slug and Lettuce," another theme bar from the same chain. Unfortunately this never happened and I believe the building is still empty.
