37 The Strand Walmer
Opened in 1921 after the "King's Head," and later the "Queen's Head," closed as a public house on 31 December 1914. I am not sure what the building was used for between those dates, except to report the out-buildings being destroyed by fire in May 1917. Four years later in 1921, obviously after some renovation the premises reopen, as the "Old Comrades Club," a fore-running of its name today, that being the "Royal Marines Association Club," which attained that name some time before or during 1938.
