38 Middle Street 190a Middle Street Deal
Owned and supplied by Thompson & Sons. Previous to 1896 it was named the "Clarendon Tap," and addressed situated on the corner of Short Lane. Often referred to as just the "Victory" "The Old Victory" and even "Ye Old Victory" but not to be confused with the "Victoria." The above premises was unfortunately bombed and demolished in 1940. The photograph below is of the area, but I am unsure exactly which part of it was the public house. The area is now a car-park for local residents.
