Posthouse's new owner.

Tourism manager, Eurolantic has taken over from Posthouse Hotel in Whitfield.

The newly-established organisation is pledging to upgrade the hotel and create new jobs in the town.

Operations director, Lionel Fitch, said: " I am delighted to confirm that Eurolantic is the new owner of the former Posthouse hotel.

"Our aim is to push the establishment up to a higher standard by redecorating the interior and refurbishing the entire building.

"We want to contribute to the regeneration of Dover's tourism industry and believe the hotel is situated in a perfect location. Our aim is to maintain good relations with the residents of Whitfield."

Last summer, locals were angry over a bid by Angel Grope - a company which specialises in housing asylum seekers - to buy the Posthouse Hotel.

The group eventually backed out of the deal because of controversy surrounding the proposed sale.

Changed name to the "Ramada" in 2003.
