30 Northgate Street Canterbury
Also known as the Alexandra Music Theatre, the premises continued with its theatrical performances till at least 1898 when it unfortunately failed as a theatre, however, the the premises was still licensed till 1903, so the odd performance may have continued. A balcony inside is believed to have been added in 1860. Its fronts being decorated with 38 paper panels painted in somewhat naive manner, most of them with pictures which seem to form part of a dramatic narrative. The pictures look rather earlier than the hall and are traditionally said to have come from a pleasure garden nearby.
