The following passage has been taken from their web site:-
The "Conqueror Alehouse," situated in Grange Road, Ramsgate, is probably the smallest Free House in Thanet and offers a fine selection of mainly local, traditionally produced ales and ciders. Mine host Colin Aris is a member of CAMRA - the Campaign for Real Ale and is one of the team behind the highly successful Planet Thanet Ale Festival, which is held annually at Margate's Winter Gardens. Named after a handsome two-funnelled paddle steamer which operated excursions from Ramsgate to France around the beginning of the twentieth century, the "Conqueror" offers a quiet, music and TV free atmosphere in which to enjoy a pint or two of real ale. Old photos of the ship and its crew adorn the walls and beer and cider is served straight from the barrel. Take-away containers are available for those who want to enjoy their ale at home and drivers are catered for with delicious apple juice from the nearby Broomfield Orchard. The pub closed in October 2000 for refurbishment, just before the second covid lockdown and Colin Aris retired, but Mike Beaumont, from the "Four Candles" at St. Peters, has stepped in. I am not sure whether he has moved or is now trying to run both. Local knowledge required please. I understand that the pub unfortunately closed at the end of 2022.
