11 Charlotte Place
Margate
The building dates from the mid 1800s.
A long-time Charrington's house, the brewery closed the pub in the 1970s,
and it re-opened as a free house bearing the curious name of "Quart
In a Pint Pot."
The address used to be Charlotte Square but after the bombing of WW2 the
layout changed and so the area was renamed Charlotte Place.

BUFFS' GIFT TO MR. R. N. HARMAN.
Mr. Robert Henry Harman, who recently resigned the chairmanship of the
Margate branch of the Past and Present Association The Buffs because of
ill-health, received a gift from members at a pleasant function held at
the "George and Dragon," Margate, on Monday evening.
Mr. Harman became chairman of the branch in November, 1928, shortly
after its inauguration, and retired early this year.
His successor, Mr. W. G. Stewart, making the presentation, which took
the form of an inscribed clock, described Mr. Harman as one of the
pioneers of the branch and recalled that in August, 1929, the Thanet
branch mustered 119 members at a memorial parade, one more than the
London branch.
Mr. Stewart said he came to Margate in 1933 and was impressed by the
enthusiasm and ability shown by Mr. Harman in discharging his duties. He
hoped that their former chairman would soon be restored to health and
would be able to pick up the traces again.
Thanking his colleagues, Mr. Harman said the branch had experienced ups
and downs but he was proud of the fact that their funds had always been
on the right side.
