The pub closed in the 1920s, and part of it now (2016) is being used as the W H Smith store.

Dartford Cricket.

A match was played on the Brent on Thursday, between 11 gentlemen of Peckham Rye, and 11 gentlemen of Dartford. Wickets were pitched shortly after 11 o'clock, and the result of the game was the defeat of the home team. There was a booth on the ground, and refreshments were supplied by Mr. Black, of the "New Inn," High Street.
