From an email received 23 July, 2014.
I believe that the pub was run by my 2nd Great Grandfather, Moses Thurgood during the
period 1861 to 2nd April 1884 when he died. I do not know anything at
the "White Hart" other than the fact it was demolished in the 1920's.
The site is below an existing road in the area.
Moses spelt his surname as THURGOOD but later named all of his
children with the surname THOROGOOD. This maybe because his parents
could not read or write. If you could provide me with any details that
you have to date I would be obliged as I am writing to somebody in
Australia who has an interest in Moses.
Regards and best wishes,
Terry Sales.

From an email received 1 July 2016. Hello,
Can you please put me in touch with Terry Sales, as Moses Thurgood/Thorogood
is my great grandfather. My grandmother was Rosina Fanny Thorogood. I’ve
done a family tree on Ancestry.
Also I would really like to know who else in Australia is interested
in Moses! I must have close family here.
I live in Adelaide, South Australia, but coming to Dartford for a
visit in June.
Please email me at the address below.

The pub was closed by the 1920s for road improvements which now covers
the site. Although it is suggested by Michael Norman that it actually closed
as early as 1901.
