The pub was opened in 1863 and was renamed the "Hall by the Sea" about 1884. The original building was demolished in 1892 and the pub was rebuilt and named the "Connaught Hotel." The premises is now used as the Connaught bingo hall, and is advertised as the only independent Bingo hall in the South East.

A very clever coujuror and illusonist has been entertaining the public in the Foresters' Hall this week. His name is Olmo, and his performances have given great satisfaction, the box trick being very cleverly done. He has no other assistant than his wife.

HERNE BAY. — PERMISSION TO DRAW.

Mr. G. Collerd, solicitor, asked the Bench to grant permission to draw at the "Station Hotel," Herne Bay, to Frederick Secreton.

The application was granted.
