Built in 1853 and originally called the "Man of Kent" the name changed by 1871 and the building was renovated and extended in 1895.

The Hotel used to consist of a large bar, 12 hotel rooms and a 60 cover restaurant which can also be separated off and used for private functions.

However, I am informed that the pub was closed some time in 2013 and is currently under offer with full planning permission to redevelop to provide 7 houses.

I have just added this pub to that list but your help is definitely needed regarding it's history.

As the information is found or sent to me, including photographs, it will be shown here.

Thanks for your co-operation.
