Not sure whether this is a photo of the actual premises, but this is the look they are trying to achieve. February 2016.

Previously known as "No 5 Bar and Kitchen" the premises closed in February 2016 and rumour has it that it is going to change name to the "Taphouse Beer Cafe" but date of opening, as yet unknown.

Evidently it is going to sell Craft Beers, Real Ale, Craft Gins, Artisan Coffee, Brunch Bar Snacks, Real Cider and Fine Wines.

Beer cafe is opening its doors at the end of March in Deal

Jonathan Brown, 45, of Harold Road, is the new owner of The "Taphouse Beer Cafe," which has taken over the former "No 5 Kitchen and Bar" which shut down in January.

Mr Brown and his partner Ruth Shannon would like their new business venture to cater for “all walks of life”.

It will run as a cafe in the daytime and a bar at night and is set to appeal to the over 25s.

The father-of-two said: “I was given the opportunity completely out of the blue and I could see a market that was missing.

“Deal is definitely becoming like Whitstable with lots of Londoners coming down.

“But Deal is still a working class town so we will be catering for the locals and people who come to visit the town."

The premises has been decorated in a modern style with an American tap bar being the focal point.

But one special feature which will make the place really stand out is the fact that people will be able to try different beers and ales from all over the world.

Mr Brown works for Time & Tide Brewing, who he said will be his main supplier.

A selection of food dishes will also be available.

The businessman has many previous successes in his portfolio, having already run the "Deal Hoy" and the "Bohemian" in Beach Street from 2003 to 2011.

The "Taphouse" will be open six days a week from 9am to 9pm.
