Canterbury

Only reference to this found so far is a listing in Bagshaws directory of 1847.

No 23 Broad Street appears to have been around the entrance to Lady Woottons Green, and so the "Red Rover" will evidently have been between the "Malt Shovel" at No 30 and the "Three Cups" at No 18.

Kentish Gazette, 12 November 1844.

An inquest was held on Tuesday evening at the "Red Rover," on Lady Wootton’s Green, in this city, on the decease of Mrs. Judith Holttum, aged 79, who had suddenly come to her death by her clothes taking fire on the previous night. Deceased had been very infirm for some time, and met with the unfortunate accident during the temporary absence of her relatives. She lingered till next morning, when death terminated her sufferings.

A verdict of "Accidental death" was returned.
