Park Brewery Tap

Latest 1906+

Cage Lane

Plumstead

Found in the West Kent Guardian of 1854 and probably the tap room to a brewery called the Park Brewery.

At present the only Park Brewery I know is the one that was situated at 54a Southampton Street, Camberwell, and which was acquired by Thomas Philips & Co. Ltd. of West Malling in 1898 and later taken over by Courage & Co. Ltd.

Mary Mills informs me the following:- "Park brewery was the original name for Beasleys - started in 1854 Lewis Davos - Woolwich jeweller and pawnbroker, owned a Plumstead brickfied, opened here the brewery and a water works, Beasley bought it later after Davis' death.

From the Borough of Greenwich Free Press, 6 September, 1856.
