Only the one instance of this found at present, but there is an "Anchor and Hope" addressed in Woolwich which could well be the same pub. I also have a "We Anchor in Hope" addressed at Shooters Hill Road in Welling.

Transfer of Licenses.

The license of the "Anchor and Hope," East Wickham, from John Donington to David Garland.

 

Maidstone Journal and Kentish Advertiser, Thursday 11 July 1895.

Alfred Richard Morris, of the "Anchor in Hope" public house, East Wickham, was summoned for selling half a pint of whiskey to j. Tucker, Inspector of Foods and Drugs, on the 5th June, which was 27.4 degrees under proof, or 2.4 below below the legal limit.

Defendant was fined 20s., and costs.
