James Marsh secured the spirit licence in 1863.

Reference has been made by Mr. Bert Marbrook age 93 in May 1973, who was once the licensee of the original "Archliffe Fort Inn" that the "Blue Post" was originally called the "Globe."

ANNUAL LICENSES

A spirit license was granted to James Marsh, of the "Blue Post," Bulwark Street.

 

 

Donnard had the seat of honour in 1865 but my searches never found it again.
