Jester watercolour 2012

Above watercolour 2012 by Stuart Gresswell, once licensee of "Guildhall" and "Raglan" kindly sent by Jan Pedersen.

Originally called the "Golden Arrow" this pub changed name to the "Jester" in 1994, and now it is back to the "Golden Arrow" again.

Folkestone Herald 16 July 1998.

Toby Jugs.

There are two new faces behind the bar in Folkestone. Peter Crompton and Tara Doyle have jointly taken over The Jester, Golden Valley. The new owners ran a pub in Dover before coming to Folkestone when the last landlord resigned. They are welcoming young and old to The Jester, with everything from karaoke to meals. Tara said “We have had a lot of people coming in and saying how nice the place is, but we will be brightening it up a bit”.

Folkestone Herald 23 July 1998.

Toby Jugs.

Jugs reported last week that landlords of the Jester, Tara and Peter, had taken over as landlords after the resignations of the previous management. Three separate phone calls from friends of the previous landlords asked me to point out they didn't resign. And that's about all I can say, I'm afraid.
