Malvena and Frederick Thomas

Above photo circa 1943, showing Malvena Walker and her husband Frederick Thomas, probably standing outside the "Latchmere Arms" in Battersea.

Malvena Walker and unknown

Above photo showing Malvena Walker and unknown man, date unknown, probably inside the "Latchmere Arms" in Battersea.

Patricia Dainton has kindly sent me the above photographs showing her Nan's Registration Card with the address on it as 63 New Road. I believe she was probably working there as a barmaid as the card shows her moving about quite a bit during the 2nd World War, in what looks like a variety of licensed premises.

I have just started to map out the pubs that exist or existed in Woolwich, but need local knowledge and photographs, old and current if you have any.

As the information is found or sent to me, including photographs, it will be shown here.

Thanks for your co-operation. Every email is answered and all information referenced to the supplier.

This page will be updated as soon as further information is found.
