GENERAL ANNUAL LICENSING MEETING - SPECIAL SESSIONS
Wednesday 24th August:- Before Captain Kennicott R.N., James Tolputt,
and A.M. Leith, Esqs.
Applications for new licences were made by Mr. Minter, and in each
case granted, for the following persons:- Robert Burvill, "Jolly
Sailor," Radnor Street; Thomas William Cobb, "West
Cliff Hotel Tap;" Louis Furminger, "Wheatsheaf,"
Canterbury Road; Thomas Field, "Castle,"
Ford; George Marsh, "Harvey
Inn," Mill Lane. William Henry Lukey, "Folkestone Wine Vaults,"
Rendezvous Street was granted a licence to sell excisable liquors by
retail, not to be drunk on the premises.
The licence of the "Pavilion
Shades Inn" was transferred from John Dyason to John Wallis Jr. The
session was adjourned till the 7th September next.
Note: Could Wallis actually be the son of the John Wallis previously
at "North Foreland," and
not the same person?
