Custom House Quay.

The brewery of Jeken, Coleman and Rutley was leased from the Hon. Warden and Assistants of Dover Harbour Board from the 6th April, 1834, for a term of 61 years, at an apportioned annual ground rent of £18 2s. Although the brewery itself is listed in Pigot's directory as far back as 1823. However, on 8th September 1864 the entire brewery was put up for auction at the "Royal Oak" in 27 lots and stated the brewery had been in full trade for upwards of 100 years.

 The Lots auctioned included a number of public houses as follows:- The "Royal Oak," "Five Alls," "Saracen's Head," "Lord Raglan," "Flying Horse Inn," "Druid's Head," "White Horse," "Cherry Tree," "Terminus Inn," "Seven Stars," "Silver Lion," "Royal Mortar," "Lord Nelson," "Green Dragon," "Royal Mail," "Folkestone Cutter," "George," "Barley Mow," and "Golden Fleece."

Messrs Bradley Bros grain store was near to the old Custom House, and was built in 1864, on the site of the Brewery, which was purchased and pulled down.
